Dr. Alisha Hines

Director of Research, Center for Scholars & Storytellers at UCLA

 

Dr. Alisha J. Hines is the Director of Research for the Center for Scholars & Storytellers at UCLA. Dr. Hines leads a team of researchers across the entire portfolio of original and commissioned research conducted on behalf of the Center, including its signature annual Teens and Screens Report

Dr. Hines is formerly a faculty member in the History Department at Wake Forest University where she designed and taught courses on slavery, gender, the Civil War and Reconstruction, and earned her PhD in History & African American Studies from Duke University. She is also the founder of One Eighty Third, LLC, a consulting agency that leverages research and storytelling to direct organizational strategies in the private and philanthropic sectors.
