Director of Recruitment and Talent Development

Amy Wu is formerly the Director of Recruitment and Talent Development at Nickelodeon. Initially studying Biology at Virginia Tech, Amy realized her love of stories and pivoted to Interdisciplinary Studies focusing on Sociology and Communications. Unsure of her future career path she, of course, pursued internships. The first, being at a local radio station and the second, on the movie Looney Tunes: Back in Action. It was there that she fell in love with Animation and realized there were roles for non-artists (but artist lovers) like herself.

Amy’s curiosity led her to other jobs in the entertainment industry – including being a Director’s Assistant to Andrew Fleming (Nancy Drew, The Craft, Hamlet 2). Ultimately, her compass led her back to Animation where she started off her Nickelodeon career as an Executive Assistant and worked her way through the worlds of Post Production, Animation Management, Social Media, and Human Resources. In her most recent role, she oversaw all aspects of the NICKternship program and was consistently on the lookout for diverse voices to bring into the studio. Amy was also responsible for curating curriculum for various talent development programs designed to provide professional training, career development, and inspiration to industry creatives. People, their stories, and inclusivity are her passions. In her free time, you can find her testing out new recipes, drinking boba, reading, tinkering on the piano, and running around the LA parks with her family.
