Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt
VP Animation, Marvel Studios
A graduate of California Institute of the Arts, Dana carved her first career in stage and theatre management. Her years in regional and summer stock theatre paved the way to becoming Assistant Production Manager at Center Theatre Group (CTG), one of the nation’s largest theatre companies encompassing the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre and Kirk Douglas Theatre. During her tenure at CTG she had the privilege of working with some of the best people in the business and on such notable productions as, “The Drowsy Chaperone” (13 Tony Award nominations), and “9 to 5: The Musical” as well as blockbusters including “Mary Poppins”, and “Jersey Boys.”
In 2011 it was time for a change. Answering the question, “If I could do anything what would it be?”, Dana looked to her life long love of animation and thought, “Let’s go for it!” Taking a long history in theatre down to what could be applied to a new industry, the hunt was on find an entry position with one of the leading animation studios.
She was thrilled to get that first executive assistant position at Nickelodeon Animation and over the next several years, her passion for story in the animation space continued to grow as did the opportunities to work on modern, cartoon classics like “The Fairly OddParents”, “The Loud House” and the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” franchise. In 2021 Dana joined Marvel Studios as VP Animation, working on the studio’s premiere slate of animated projects for Disney+, “What If…?”, “I Am Groot”, “X-Men ‘97” and many more. It’s a thrill and privilege to be able work in this industry, fueled by the incredible talent, ceaseless drive and boundless kindness of the people who make up the animation community.
