Julie Zackary

Oscar nominated Animation Producer

Julie Zackary is an Oscar nominated Animation Producer and a 25 year veteran of the Visual Effects and Animation world. She recently produced (p.g.a.)  the animated feature, NIMONA, based on the award winning graphic novel of the same name by N.D. Stevenson which was nominated for best Animated Feature in 2024. She is currently the Head of Production at the newly formed Animation division of Annapurna pictures.  

In March of 2020, she moved to the East Coast to become the Vice President of Production for Blue Sky Studios.  She played an instrumental part in securing NIMONA a new home with Annapurna Pictures as well as procuring the film's partnership with DNEG animation. She spent the bulk of her career at Sony Pictures Imageworks, having worked in traditional VFX, Motion Capture, Virtual Production, and finally CG Animation. It was this experience and expertise that led her into studio leadership, as the VP of Production Management.  In this role she worked to strengthen both the VFX and Animation production pipelines by supporting and engaging the production staff, approaching each production as a film making partnership rather than just a vendor studio arrangement.

Some of her film credits include Stuart Little 2, The Polar Express, Zathura, Hancock, Beowulf, Alice in Wonderland, Tron Legacy, Jack the Giant Slayer, The Angry Birds Movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the Mitchells vs. the Machines.

She currently resides in Ridgefield, Connecticut with her husband, son, and giant dog.
