Melissa Vitello

Melissa Vitello is an award-winning screenwriter and director with over 13 years of experience in the independent film industry.  Aside from producing 11 feature films, Melissa has directed 5 feature films. Her most recent, Regression, wrapped in October of 2024 and is currently in post-production. Regression featured cameo appearances from Sean Whalen and Nicole Bilderback. Melissa’s previous feature, Abigail, starred Warner Bros. Light’s Out star Ava Cantrell. Abigail was distributed by Dark Star Pictures, released to Apple TV, and most recently featured on Tubi’s “Most Popular Horror”.

Melissa was a top 10 finalist for Best Screenplay at the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival, as well as a second rounder for the Austin Film Festival screenplay competition. Melissa has also won awards in Best Original Screenplay from the Pasadena International Film Festival, and Best Director from the San Diego Film Festival. Other festivals Melissa has been featured include: Slamdance, Dances With Film, FilmQuest, and GenreBlast.
