Sofia Fojas

Arts Coordinator, Santa Clara County Office of Education

Sofia Fojas (she, her) is a leader for cultural equity and social justice in the arts and is the Arts Coordinator for the Santa Clara County Office of Education. A classroom music teacher and high school music director for 20 years, she taught orchestra, band, and mariachi. She has been an arts leader in three counties for nine years and is in her final year of a doctoral program at SJSU. Ms. Fojas started her musical career as a violinist in the San Jose Children’s Musical Theater and continues to play violin and viola in the Bay Area in addition to providing technical assistance to schools, districts, and community partners  around topics related to robust arts education programs for students in the K-12 setting.
