Tara Jacobson

VFX Artist

Tara moved to NYC in 2003 to attend the School of Visual Arts, where she majored in Computer Art. After graduating in 2007 she quickly had work freelancing in NYC as an After Effects Artist, doing mostly commercial work, but a handful of movies, music videos and even video games showed up on her agenda as well. Just six months after graduation, she became the Lead Compositor on five, one-minute, national commercials for the Truth Campaign. This is where she began to prove herself and make her mark in the industry in NYC. Slowly, the television and movie industry began to shift towards a new software called Nuke, so in 2011 she moved to Florida for six months to get training as a Stereoscopic Nuke Compositor. Returning to NYC, she worked with Ang Lee on Life of Pi, which has been one of the highlights of her career. Since then, Tara has worked on a wide variety of blockbuster films, indie films, award-winning television series, and more. Currently, she is working on the client-side for season four of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
