Xochitl Torres

Director of Workforce, BRIC Foundation

 

Xochitl Torres is the Director of Workforce at the BRIC Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to increasing representation of underrepresented communities in the entertainment industry. Xochitl is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the workforce development programs. In her role, Xochitl provides guidance and expertise to creative sector registered apprenticeship programs and strengthens career pathways through partnerships with industry, government, education, and labor union partners. During her time at BRIC, she oversaw the Arts, Media and Entertainment High Road Training Partnership (AME-HRTP), a state-wide initiative that delivered industry training programs and sustainable employment to drive economic mobility for creative workers experiencing barriers to entry in California.

Xochitl has previously worked at Warner Bros. Discovery and NBCUniversal, where she developed ground-breaking talent development initiatives to provide access to creative talent. An alumna of the Warner Bros. Reach Program and LA Promise Fund, Xochitl understands first-hand the transformative power of early career and pathway opportunities that break down barriers to entry in the industry. With a focus in workforce development programs and a commitment to developing accessible pathways, Xochitl is dedicated to making systemic change and building a more inclusive workforce.

Xochitl attended California State University, Long Beach and is currently pursuing a Master in Public Administration (MPA) from California State University, Northridge.
