DAWN SNYDER
Director of Education for the Art Director’s Guild
After several decades of working in motion picture and TV art departments, Dawn is currently working as the Director of Education for the Art Director’s Guild.
Dawn began her production design career on the indie movie; Dancer, Texas; Population 81 and is best known for her TV work on the series Arrested Development (S1, 2 & 3), for which she earned an Art Director’s Guild Award. Other series she designed include Psych (S1), Imaginary Mary, RUSH HOUR and Netflix’s Best. Worst. Weekend. Ever.
Dawn’s film credits include ThunderForce, Goosebumps, X-Men: First Class, Van Helsing, Armageddon, Speed 2: Cruise Control, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Caddyshack II and Field of Dreams.
Throughout her career, Dawn has been ‘paying it forward’ by mentoring new members in her art departments. She taught Production Design at SCAD and currently teaches Advanced Art Direction in the Production Design Discipline at AFI Conservatory.
In her free time, Dawn is an avid scuba diver who enjoys taking exotic underwater excursions all over the world.
