Visual Development with DreamWorks Animation

THE MISSION: To give diverse high-school students hands-on exposure and experience in creating content in a virtual setting with professional artists.

WHAT IS THE BRIC CREATIVE ACADEMY? A project challenge for teams to ideate, develop, and produce new content. Types of content and topics will vary.

WHAT WAS THE CHALLENGE? Students were to create an image or storyboard of what strength meant to them.

WHAT SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED? USC Media Arts & Engineering Magnet, Compton Early College High School, West Adams Preparatory High School, South East High School, VAPA, Manual Arts High School, Bonita High School & more.

HOW DID IT WORK? We had a group of DreamWorks Animation “coaches” split up in zoom breakout rooms to guide and mentor the teams on their projects and assist them with creating their projects. They collaborated on Magmastudios free collaborative drawing web-based software and were able to send in their final art for additional critique from the artists. Students from USC Media Arts & Engineering Magnet, Compton Early College High School, West Adams Preparatory High School, South East High School, VAPA, Manual Arts High School, Bonita High School & more attended.
