Chief Operating Officer of the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP)
Leonard Washington is a media, technology, and workforce development executive with extensive experience building organizations, launching new businesses, developing emerging talent, and leading digital transformation across the entertainment, media, healthcare, and technology sectors.
He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Entertainment Industry College Outreach Program (EICOP), a national workforce development and innovation organization creating pathways into the entertainment, media, sports, music, technology, and creative industries. In this role, Leonard helps lead EICOP's organizational strategy, operations, employer partnerships, and workforce initiatives, including its flagship HBCU IN LA®, HBCU IN NY®, and HBCU IN ATL® programs. EICOP works at the intersection of education and industry to prepare emerging talent through career exposure, professional development, mentorship, paid work-based learning experiences, and direct engagement with leading employers.
Leonard's career has consistently focused on the intersection of media, technology, innovation, and business operations. He founded Paramount Digital Entertainment, the digital division of Paramount Pictures, where he led creative and business strategies for the digital marketing and distribution of film and television content and oversaw the development of entertainment products for emerging platforms and devices. During his tenure, he was involved in more than 50 new-media product launches.
He later served as Senior Vice President of Operations for REVOLT Media & TV, overseeing digital operations, technology, human resources, and facilities. He has also held senior leadership and entrepreneurial roles with Ripe Digital Entertainment and Pro Players Network.
At GE, Leonard served as Director of Media Development for the company's Healthymagination initiative, helping expand its global health-engagement strategy through traditional and digital media, content, distribution, and strategic partnerships. He also served as Senior Vice President of OWN Digital for the Oprah Winfrey Network, where his responsibilities included digital content strategy, business development, operations, analytics, and finance.
Across these roles, Leonard has developed a track record of identifying emerging opportunities, building the operational infrastructure needed to support them, and bringing together business, technology, creative talent, and strategic partners to move ideas from concept to execution.
Leonard earned a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Howard University.
Committed to education, mentorship, and community service, Leonard previously served on the board of the Exceptional Children's Foundation and has been active with the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, including its STEM initiatives. He is also a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
