Mahelet Gezachew

Development Executive and Producer

Mahelet is an Ethiopian-American Development Executive and Producer based between Los Angeles and Addis Ababa. With over seven years of experience in film, TV, social impact, and marketing, she began her career at The Walt Disney Company, supporting Global Partnerships under Marvel Studios.

She later joined Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY Filmworks as Manager of Development across film, television, and animation under its deal with Warner Bros. Mahelet then became the first Development Executive at Nike and Makeready’s joint sports film label, managing projects under a deal with Apple TV+. She has also consulted for A Few Good Women and led as Head of Content of Ethiopian digital media company, D!NK TV. Currently pursuing her Master’s at UCLA Law, she is also a Reader for Skydance and a Producer at Wax & Gold.
