A Conversation with Therapeutic Workforce Development Program Graduates
Saturday, 3:00 PM- 4:00PM PST
Speakers
The Made in New York Animation Project (TAP) is a non-profit therapy, education and workforce development program. The current entertainment and educational complex primarily accesses individuals who can afford to participate in costly training programs and specialty schools. TAP removes the financial barrier by providing therapeutic services and tiered, supportive, incentivized training in the animation pipeline at no cost to participants. With few opportunities immersed with focused training on industry-standard programs, therapeutic support and workforce guidance, TAP aims to narrow the existing equity gap by supporting the creative drive, mental health, careers, and financial wellness of adolescents and young adults.
The goal of this panel is to 1) introduce TAP’s talent, therapeutic workforce development model and graduates; 2) challenge the industry to join us in developing best practices for working with, hiring and supporting talent from non-traditional pathways as they enter the animation, gaming and VFX industries; 3) invite those interested in joining TAP to connect with graduates and hear their stories.
